About

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT #51126) who earned my Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies in Somatic Psychotherapy.  My Bachelor’s degree includes Psychology and Women’s Studies.  I have over 20 years experience in the field which includes the following training programs; the Women’s Therapy Center in relational psychodynamic therapy; the Family Institute of Pinole in trauma therapy with children and families; and the Ann Martin Center in psychoanalytically-oriented play therapy with children, adolescents and their families.

I also have a wide range of experience working with individual men and women, children, adolescents and families in clinics, schools and home-based settings and am well-versed in providing case management and crisis intervention services.  I have worked with adolescent girls as a Residential Counselor, an Educator and as a Group Facilitator.  I have facilitated groups for adults on embodiment, relationship and spirituality.  I bring a wide breadth of experience in trauma recovery, Nonviolent Communication, yoga and mindfulness meditation to my work with clients.

I believe in the power of what can happen when therapist and client engage in this healing process together.  Again and again, I have witnessed how this unique and collaborative relationship undoes old patterns and makes room for new ways of being and relating.  While I bring a depth of training to my work, I am ultimately guided by my sense of what each person needs and what we discover together.
